Brian Marrinan Receives Award from MBA Career Services & Employer Alliance!!

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School has a commitment to highest quality throughout the organisation, from academic through to areas such as careers and alumni. We were delighted when this past week this was again recognised internationally when Brian Marrinan, who leads the Career Development & Skills Centre here at UCD Smurfit, was presented with an award from the MBA Career Services & Employer Alliance (MBACSEA), the body which represents MBA employers and careers services around the world.

The award recognised the individual whom the organisation felt had made the biggest impact in the field globally for those new to the organisation in the previous three years.

Apart from his contributions to the ongoing development of the service at the UCD Smurfit School, Brian was recognised for his leadership in the development of the MBACSEA organisation in Europe. Particularly noted were his contribution to the organisation of the European conference in Berlin, followed by his chairing of the conference in Edinburgh which attracted almost 130 people across MBA career services and employers internationally.

The award was presented in front of 500 leading employers and careers staff in Minneapolis, MN, USA, on Thursday evening and comes off the back of Brian winning an equivalent award from the UK body, the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) last year.

We’re delighted that while there was some tough competition for this award from individuals in schools across the US and further afield, our ongoing pledge to providing best in class services to our students here at the UCD Smurfit School has been recognised once again. Well done Brian!
